The idea that this is a life long struggle is absolutely false.  You can find relief starting on the first appointment.
The Real Problem That’s Keeping You Stuck.
The real issue isn’t a lack of willpower or communication skills.

It’s that your nervous system learned to prioritize safety through approval, harmony, and emotional monitoring.
When your brain is wired for hyper-awareness of others, speaking up can feel unsafe—even when you logically know it’s okay.
This is why traditional advice like “just be more confident” or “just say no” rarely works.
Your system has to feel safe first.
I use Somatic Experiencing to work with your nervous system, move trauma out help you feel like you can be in your body again.
  • Some of it is talking, but it goes deeper by working with the fight, flight, freeze of the nervous system.
  • The theory being that when we have a trauma where we encounter a force that we cannot fight or get away from we freeze.  The freeze will stay with us to keep us safe from danger.
  • "The Somatic Experiencing® approach facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root cause of trauma symptoms.
  • This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. "  https://traumahealing.org/about-us/
