I use Somatic Experiencing to work with your nervous system, move trauma out help you feel like you can be in your body again.
- Some of it is talking, but it goes deeper by working with the fight, flight, freeze of the nervous system.
- The theory being that when we have a trauma where we encounter a force that we cannot fight or get away from we freeze. The freeze will stay with us to keep us safe from danger.
- "The Somatic Experiencing® approach facilitates the completion of self-protective motor responses and the release of thwarted survival energy bound in the body, thus addressing the root cause of trauma symptoms.
- This is approached by gently guiding clients to develop increasing tolerance for difficult bodily sensations and suppressed emotions. " https://traumahealing.org/about-us/
